Pier disrepair

IN RESPONSE to your article concerning the pier in last week's Penarth Times.

We are rather concerned that there has been no action on improvements to the pier since the Labour controlled Council did it up, after several years of Tory neglect.

Having taken Lorraine Barratt AM and Alun Michael MP to see the state of the pavilion, they are as annoyed as I am. We witnessed broken glass, paint coming off and rust.

These are all indicative signs of a council that do not care about one of the jewels in the town.

Why should entertainers such as Mr Stennett be bothered to invest in this town, if our own local tory representatives cannot even get the pavilion painted? Surely that is not too much to ask!
