Run for life

MAY I ask any Penarth Times readers who have a place in next year's London Marathon to consider running it for Marie Curie Cancer Care.

Last year, 2,819 hours of nursing care were given to patients within your area with severe terminal cancer who choose to be nursed in the comfort and familiarity of their own homes, at no cost to themselves or their families.

This is in addition to our Hospice Centre at Holme Tower, Penarth and the only Hospice with family facilities.

By running the London Marathon for Marie Curie, you will be helping us to continue providing practical support for cancer patients and their families at a very tough time.

You will also be supporting scientists at the Marie Curie Research Institute, who are investigating the causes and treatment of cancer.

My colleagues and I will be delighted to advise you on fundraising matters and we will be running a pasta party in London for our supporters the night before the Marathon and a reception afterwards.
