A CHARITY football match organised in support of Llandough Hospital Children's Ward and Ty Hafan Children's Hospice has raised more than £500.
Staged at Barry's Jenner Park stadium, the match involved a team comprising teachers from a number of the town's schools and a side representing the Vale of Glamorgan Council.
The match was organised by Romilly School teacher Mark Ellis and staff from the Council's Sports Devel-opment Unit.
Jenny King (Llandough) and Pam Dodd (Ty Hafan) received cheques from Cllr Tony Hampton, Vale Cabinet Member (Lifelong Learning, Education and Training), Mark Ellis, Paul Nanji, Vale Sport Development Manager, and Alun Rees, District Sports Council treasurer.
The teachers were given great vocal support by a large number of parents.
Cllr Hampton said: "The Vale Council was delighted to sponsor the event and special thanks should be extended to the District Sports Council for their support.
"Llandough Hospital and Ty Hafan perform a fantastic job and deserve the full support of the local community."
