Art success

I WOULD like to thank all the people who attended my recent exhibition of paintings and prints. The weekend was a great success.

I have given a cheque for £240 to Cllr Harold Rees, chairman of the Vale Council, for Arthritis Research, one of his chosen charities this year.

I would also like to express my sincere thanks to Fred Johnson of Arthritis Research, Cllr Rees and his PA Carole Alexander for their help and support in organising the private view which preceded the exhibition.

Guests included Penarth town mayor Cllr David Clapham, and Tom Lawson, consultant rheumatologist who has helped with my own diagnosis and treatment over the past years.

A raffle organised by Fred Johnson with prizes donated by Arthritis Research, Cllr Rees and myself, raised more than £40.

Added to the money raised from sales and other donations, a grand total of just over £300 was raised.
