Foxes tame the Eagles

Sully Colts Foxes U-8s v Barry Eagles B

ANOTHER early start on a bitterly cold morning at Sully saw the Foxes take on Barry Eagles in a game full of festive cheer.

A confident Foxes side started the match with some precision passing from Lloyd Phillips, Miles Morgan and Rory Hay.

A disciplined performance from Foxes defence saw them maintain good shape throughout the game as the players were rotated through different positions.

With all the team being comfortable on the ball the Foxes continued to play a controlled passing game.

James Longman showed his ability to run with the ball and cross it with either foot.

He is developing into a mature player who is able to read the game very quickly and took advantage of a short corner on numerous occasions.

An Eagles attack was stopped with a well timed tackle from Sam Sellick, who went on to drag the ball back, skip past two players and drive the ball past the goalkeeper from 15 metres, for the third time this season.

The Foxes maintained the pressure on the Eagles goal but an outstanding display between the posts by the Eagles goalkeeper managed to keep the score down to one goal as the Foxes were unable to find the net as the half time whistle went.

Eagles started the second half with renewed enthusiasm and gave Foxes some defending to do in front of goal.
