CD Review: Darius 'Dive In'

REMEMBER that dark-haired man with the funny beard and weird ponytail that appeared on the very first series of Popstars?

Darius Danesh was knocked back so many times, and even ridiculed for his rather daring version of Britney Spears' Baby, One More Time that he must have felt like a ping-pong ball.

But he swore to the panel of judges on his last humiliation that within the year, he would be scrambling his way towards the number one spot, with or without them. What a boast - but at least he lived up to it.

With his debut album Dive In, Darius has put himself out on the music market with a great new image, showing off undeniable good looks and irrefutable talent.

From Colourblind to Rushes there is nothing offensive or arrogant about this young man. He has a lovely sound and cute lyrics. In interviews he has given, Darius has offered insight into some of his inspiration, saying how many of his ideas came from his own personal life.

So perhaps it would be fair to say that some of his songs are targeted towards the unrequited love so often experienced by teenagers.

This is a lovely album to buy for Christmas.
