DVD Review: 'Minority Report

SET IN the year 2054, Tom Cruise plays John Anderton the chief of the Precrime Unit in Washington DC, in Minority Report.

Designed to predict future murders, the experiment has a massive success rate over the six years. But the unit is on the brink of complete public acclaim or total ruination.

And when Cruise himself is set up as a future murderer, the race is on to solve not just why he is seen killing a man he does not know, but why anyone would want to jeopardise the experiment. And he has less than 36 hours.

The film is well thought through, and in a completely believable way, you really can see the world turning out like this. A twist in human genetics gives rise to a system where all you have to do is think about killing someone, and you will go down.

The film starts very well, catapulting the audience into action. It does slow down just before the end but still holds you gripped.

For fans of Tom Cruise, this is a must. For fans of futuristic films, it has potential. The film has a confident 12 certificate and would make a good Christmas gift.
