Charity benefits from Vale of Glamorgan golf tournament

A CHARITY event hosted by the Vale of Glamorgan Hotel Golf and Country Club has raised £6,000 for the Arthritis Research Campaign.

Supported by businesses and individuals from across the area, the golf tournament was organised by club captain Jack Doherty (left), who presented a cheque to Vale Council chairman Cllr Harold Rees.

Cllr Rees, who is supporting the charity during his year of office, was accompanied by his Consort, wife Ann, and Vale councillor Fred Johnson, the charity's area appeal manager for South, Mid and West Wales.

Cllr Johnson said: "This was a magnificent effort by both the organisers and supporters of the event."
