Look at the big picture

HOW interesting to read Lorraine Barrett and Paul Gray's comments on the latest steps in the Harbour View saga.

It was of course, the previous Labour Party Vale administration that initiated the Harbour View scheme, but with no clear idea of what it intended for the site, or when it intended to complete.

A massive scheme like this needs also to be set in the context of an overall development plan for Penarth and Cogan, since there are big implications for highways and transport with hundreds more cars likely to pour on to the already over capacity Windsor Road.

Can I also correct one statement in your article of December 19? I said that owner-occupiers should (not would) receive realistic offers for their properties.

Since such payments are a matter for the Vale housing department rather than the Harbour View project manager, we seem as far away as ever from such compensation.
