About 60 people blocked the entrance to Plassey Street from Windsor Road for 45 minutes last Saturday morning - forcing all vehicles up the main road.

Penarth Police are investigating two bomb hoax calls - one made to a town centre store and the other to a local public house.

The Annual general meeting of the Ladies Committee of Penarth and Barry UCTA was held at the home of the Chairman, Mrs D M Vining, last Friday.

A most successful dinner was held at the Walton House Hotel last Friday with a presentation to say "Thank you" and "Bon Voyage" to Mrs Sally Hudson of Victoria Road, Penarth.
