A PENARTH opera singer has finally put his voice on a CD for all his local fans to listen to.
David Harding, of Plymouth Road, Penarth has released an album called The Prologue.
The CD contains such classics as Questo Amor from Edgar by Giacomo Puccini and My Little Welsh Home by W.S Gwynn Williams.
Mr Harding said: "I enjoy performing in operas but I also like to sing other classic songs such as My Little Welsh Home.
As a young man I was tutored by an eminent voice coach in Merthyr Tydfil. W.J. Watkins was an ex-principal tenor at the Metropolitan Opera Company in New York."
His birth place is the village of Deri in South Wales but David has lived in Penarth for many years.
He has played many different roles for the Welsh National Opera Company of which he was a member for 25 years.
His wife Barbara, also sang in the company and together they have two children, daughter Tracey Carita and son David Wayne.
As an opera singer David has performed in Japan, Canada, Taiwan and other places such as Alaska.
During his time with the company he went to Milan to study with Madam Maria Ratoff a leading vocal teacher.
He was then asked to learn the lead role of Lago in Verdi's Otello.
Which he performed with Maria Ratoff and Maestro Nesta of the world renowned La Scala of Milan.
In his work David has performed in many charity concerts for such societies as the British Heart Foundation, Kidney Research, Alzheimer's Disease and many other worthy causes.
David said: "At the moment I am taking things as they come. I am not sure what will come up in the future but I enjoy what I do now."
His CD is available at Snell's Newsagent, Stanwell Road, Kitchener and Thomas, Windsor Road and Cardiff Music, Castle Arcade, Cardiff.
