Go in peace

MAY I thank the Penarth Times for the timely publicity given to the cause of "Stand up for Peace" taking place outside the Library in last week's edition and also for the exposure given to our "Petition for Peace" in Windsor Road.

But, may I object to the headline of the latter because, while some of those protesting and also signing the petition may be pacifists, many others were not.

The churches are concerned about all issues local, national and international and will attempt to increasingly raise their voice on matters which concern us all.

The local churches showed great togetherness when, last Sunday, they engaged in a huge exchange process when almost all local priests, clergy and ministers conducted the morning service or preached in a different church or place of worship.

The day was completed by a united service in a crowded St John Baptist Church, conducted by the Rector of Sully, the Reverend Edward Dowding.
