CD review Lionel Richie 'Encore'

CLEVERLY giving hints as to the content of his newest CD, Lionel Richie's most recent musical offering is all from live sets.

Encore has so many of his classics on there, like Hello, Dancing On The Ceiling and Three Times A Lady, but it cannot be thought of as just a best of.

With original content included, for example, To Love A Woman was written by Lionel Richie and features Enrique Iglesias.

While the ex-Commodore frontman appeared to have dropped out of public view for a while, he certainly seems to have been keeping himself busy.

For many people who like his music, but possibly not enough to go and see him live in concert, this is a good album.

It gives you a taste of his stage presence without having to fork out a fortune for tickets and travelling.

And his appearance on the popular TV series Fame Academy could not have done his career any damage.

He not only embraced the students' enthusiasm but he actively encouraged their talent, injecting a little experience into the raw recruits.

This is a nice, easy-listening CD with a good mix of old classics and new material.
