Dave gains intermediate referees qualification

DAVE FORD of Penarth Lacrosse Club was recently awarded his Intermediate Referees qualification enabling him to officiate at lacrosse matches at league level.

It is interesting to note that Dave did not play lacrosse, but came into the sport as a parent of a player.

It is to his great credit that he has achieved such a prestigious award.

He was presented with his qualification by John Harrup, an International Referee, who was also the assessor for the course that Dave attended.

Dave is the only league-qualified referee in Wales, but son Andrew is following in Dad's footsteps, having just qualified as a club referee.

John Harrup stated that it was often difficult to get players to become referees, and he was delighted with the response that he received from the latest officials to come from Penarth Lacrosse Club, as not only were Penarth able to referee their own club matches, but they could also help other clubs in Wales and the South and West of England.
