AS WITH most films adapted from cartoons, there has to be some element of doubt whether the humans can do as well as the illustrations.
Well, banish that doubt! Scooby-Doo is exactly how you would imagine it to be - only better.
With a surprisingly rich cast, from Buffy's Sarah Michelle Gellar playing Daphne to the hunky but slightly over-confident, Fred played by Freddie Prinze Jnr.
The character of brainy Velma is perfect down to her orange jumper and even the way she stands.
And as for Shaggy, Matthew Lillard was born to take that role, showing real affection to his best friend Scooby-Doo.
Not an easy task, seeing as the big dog with the melting brown eyes is only a clever computer animation.
The film starts with the 'meddling kids' splitting up their dynamic mystery-solving group after egos get in the way.
Two years later and the gang are reunited by theme park Spooky Island owner Emile Mondavarious, (Rowan Atkinson).
There is more than meets the eye in the pleasure attraction and the team have to put aside their personal differences and learn how to work as a team again.
Full of the gags from the cartoon excellently made into a film, Scooby-Doo The Movie is a laugh a minute.
This is a cracking movie aimed towards young ones but with a huge draw for any adult who can still see the funny side of life.
