TWO PENARTH women who both say they 'never win anything' have scooped a new car each in a national competition.

Alison Penberthy is a customer of David Pearn's Chemist on Windsor Road and won a Vauxhall Corsa, as did the employee who served her, Diane Follon.

Alison, of Laburnum Way, said: "I am delighted because I never win anything.

"This will make my life easier because now I will not have to buy any transport.

"At the moment I have to use my husband's car to take the kids anywhere. But now I needn't bother him for it.

"It would have been an expensive business to buy new transport. This prize makes life easier."

"I am a regular customer and buy a lot of my toiletries in Pearn's. So when I saw the competition I entered."

The competition, run by Unichem, was to work out how many vitamin pots would fit in a Corsa boot.

Nearest to the answer was Alison with 1,020 pots.

But Alison used her father's Ford Fiesta boot to work out this figure and was the closest even though the boot was in a different car.

Diane said: "I was shocked to win the car because I don't normally win anything.

"The prize was presented to me at a special award ceremony at the Celtic Manor, Newport."

Owner of the chemist, David Pearn said: "We are delighted one of our customers has benefited from the promotion."
