PENARTH Sub Aqua Club, who have been based at the Leisure Centre since it opened, is keen to increase its membership of both qualified and novice divers.
The club has a 20 foot inflatable dive boat which it uses for diving mainly in West Wales, whilst it also has occasional weekends on the south coast or in Cornwall.
The club meets at the Leisure Centre on Wednesdays between 8pm and 10pm.
The first hour covers classroom requirements to achieve a diving qualification whilst the second hour covers fitness training and equipment use in the pool.
The club also welcomes anyone who would like to learn or improve their snorkelling technique. An ideal opportunity to get ready for that forthcoming summer holiday.
A six week course costs £25 and is run at the Leisure Centre on Wednesdays between 9pm and 10pm.
Your own snorkel, mask and fins are necessary, but the club will advise on what and where to purchase.
The course also includes a trial dive in the pool. To enrol for the snorkelling course you must be able to swim and aged 12 or over.
For information on becoming a diving member (qualified or trainee) or the six week course, contact the Diving Officer, Steve Davies on 2062 3581 or Rob Davies on 2070 5854.
