Equal right

I have just been viewing the video From Cardiff Bay to Swansea Bay.

I have proud connections with Penarth, not least being that my great aunt, Emily Pickford, gave her life in the first World War.

She is duly remembered on the War Memorial in Alexandra Park.

You can imagine how incensed I was when I saw the inscription - "In grateful memory of the Men of Penarth who died for their country in the great War", not a mention of the women!

Was their sacrifice not of equal worth?
