Girls tumble their way to team golf

YSGOL Pen-y-Garth recently took part in the Cardiff and Vale Schools Tumble and Vault Gymnastics competition, held this year in Barry.

The team of four girls, Elinor Lewis, Lucy Galea, Lia Thomas and Finlay Haswell, all performed beautifully against stiff opposition. They were rewarded for their hard work by winning the team gold in the under 11 competition.

Finlay and Elinor were then picked to represent Cardiff and the Vale in the Welsh Schools Final held in Monmouth on March 1.

Together with three other girls from the Cardiff and Vale area, they travelled up to Monmouth and, against competition from all over Wales, they won the under 11 team title- Welsh Schools Champions.
