Smoke risk

A FEW WEEKS ago the Penarth Times published an article about smoking in public places, but none of those interviewed mentioned the passive smoking endured by those working in many of Penarth's cafes and bars.

Smoking in public places is not something that can be done without affecting other people, and we now know that passive smoking also puts non-smokers at risk of lung cancer and heart disease.

Many of those working in these cafes and bars are youngsters who strongly object to the smoky atmosphere that they have to work in and it is simply not fair to subject them to this level of passive smoking, which puts them at risk of these fatal diseases.
