Questions

IN ORDER to help the Vale Council to access £1 million Heritage Lottery Fund bids for Alexandra Park and Windsor Gardens, the Penarth Society has circulated its 200 members with a questionnaire concerning the two parks.

We would like now, to sample public opinion on a wider basis and invite readers to contribute their views.

The questionnaire asked about the following:

Natural Features- restoration of original plantings; restoration of sea views; preservation of ancient species.

Architectural Features- restoration of the bridges, of bandstands, railings and gates; installation of lighting.

Use by the Public- importance of park manager, play facilities, promenading, performing spaces, aviary, refreshment facilities, views.

Priorities- if necessary, should Alexandra Park or Windsor Gardens be prioritised?

Your views on all these aspects of the parks' restoration will be of invaluable assistance towards obtaining a lottery grant.
