In memory

RELIGIOUS leaders, virtually without exception, regard the current war as an "unjust war." We support that view.

We are organising a silent procession through Penarth on Saturday, April 12, at 11am.

It will be in remembrance of every person killed in Iraq.

This includes Iraqi civilians who have died in the attacks; soldiers and others on both sides who are involved in the fighting; Iraqi civilians killed under Saddaam Hussein and Iraqi people who have died as a result of UN sanctions.

We believe that the world has to find ways of solving problems by methods which are both just and peaceful.

We invite others to join us and to bring flowers (with an attached message if you want to do so).

We will gather at the top of Arcot Street from 10.45am and proceed through the town centre to one of the Penarth parks where the flowers can be placed on the grass.

We ask if you will remain in silence throughout this procession. Thank you.

Philip Kingston, Andy Bowdler, Jeremy Dix, Rosemary Dix, Keith Howells, Teresa Mitchell, Margaret Phelps, Bronwen Roberts, Stan Roberts and Val Ward
