Finding Ike

My mother and her family were born in Penarth. My mum died suddenly on Christmas Eve 2000 and I promised her I would look for a relative.

I have not given up. Mum's dad, John Tennant had a sister, Dorothy. Mum had very fond memories of Dorothy and always wondered what became of her.

I tracked down a great-aunt, still living in Penarth, aged 90, by the name of Dora.

She told me she too remembered Dorothy.

Apparently Dorothy married a man from the Dutch East Indies sometime in the 1930s.

She went to live with her husband on his tea plantation in the Dutch East Indies where she had a little boy, whom they named Ike.

When she died he was taken somewhere else with his Indian nanny.

It occurs to me that should the little boy have survived, he would be in his mid-60s. If any readers can help me trace Ike, please contact me.
