I DON'T know about anyone else, but the last time I checked, comedies were supposed to be funny!
While the recent teen comedies such as Road Trip and American Pie have succeeded in making their audiences laugh, many others have tried to follow in their footsteps but failed!
Just Married is one of them.
Tom and Sarah are newly weds.
As they embark on their 'dream honeymoon,' the dream soon turns into a nightmare.
As they go from one European city to another, they wreak havoc, and put their marriage in jeopardy.
To go with this nightmare, their past lies to each other begin to haunt them.
While some gags work, the majority bomb, making the film look as if it's trying too hard.
The on-screen partnership between Ashton 'Dude Where's My Car?' Kutcher and Brittany Murphy is convincing, but like so many other films it's the script that lets the cast down.
Out of the couple, it's Kutcher who really shines.
Along with some of his slapstick talents, he does have the ability to make his character realistic.
Hopefully, this failed attempt of a film won't damage his career.
The same goes for Murphy.
At the end of the day, all you really have are the majority of the jokes delivering the punch lines before the jokes are finished.
The direction is so poor that I counted the microphone creep into the frame at least fifteen times.
This clichd film has pretty much wasted all it's opportunities.
