Piranhas in Swimathon

CHILDREN from The Penarth Leisure Centre stamina swim group formed a team to take part in the 2003 Butlins Swimathon in aid of The Macmillan Cancer Relief Charity on Thursday March 20.

A team of four youngsters took part in this event swimming a total of 5000 metres; each member of the team swam 50 lengths (1,250m) of the Barry pool.

They completed the 5000m in just over one hour raising money for this worthwhile cause.

Parents of the children also took part swimming the individual Swimathon of 5000 metre each.

The Penarth Stamina Swimming group hope to raise over £500 between them.
