Egg-straordinarily sunny Easter break

PENARTH is basking in sunshine and glory this week after a super start to the summer season.

Easter Bank Holiday proved a stunning success, despite the occasional rainy spell on Monday.

Traders say they are pleased with the turnout for local events and hope this cracking start is a taste of things to come.

Cosmeston Medieval Village manager Nick Coles said: "It was a better than average Easter for the village and we estimate more than 800 people came to the lakes.

The weather helped the events we held over the holiday period.

This weekend activity is our quiet period as we start to get in to the Summer time and it is the smallest project we do. The turn out was good for the time of year."

All in all, the break went with a bang and the sun contributed to a successful Easter both for the town and it's wider area.
