Park finish on a high

PARK Table Tennis Club have finished the season on a high note.

Park A took the Division 1 title for the fourth time in a row in the Cardiff & District Table Tennis League.

The successful squad of players, Owen Clutterbuck, Laura Hall, Tony Collins and team captain and motivator Roger Grech once again brought the title back to Penarth.

Another unexpected success for the Park D team in Division 3 had a very successful late run with five wins in their last five matches snatched the runners-up spot in Division 3 and are promoted next season to Division 2. Laura Atkinson. Michael Wheatley and young Emmerleigh Newman were the successful team.

In Division 5 Park F proved far too strong for the opposition in the division and run out comfortable winners, with Roy Davies, Craig Lewis and Jason Row.

Presentation Night will be at the Fairwater Conservative Club on Tuesday, May 6 at 7.30pm. Besides the league championships there will be further silverware returning to Penarth when the individual honours won at the Cardiff closed championships will be presented.
