EXTRACTS from the Penarth Times of May 5, 1978:

A plan to erect 21 flats adjacent to "The Elizabethan," at Cogan Pill, has again resulted in fears that the access could result in a traffic hazard on the busy main road.

Penarth Town Council has reaffirmed its policy to move its offices from "West House" to The Kymin with only one member, Cllr Harold Toye voting against.

The Rev Edwin Davies was persuaded to make a return visit to Penarth WRVS Darby and Joan Club last week, when he took as his theme "How Not To Speak in Public."

Two thousand pounds has been spent on improving Penarth baths and another £3,000 may be used to rectify other defects if the money is available later.

Mr Howard Thomas of the Royal Commission for Ancient Monuments directed operations on the Common last weekend when the Dinas Powis Local History Society excavated a small site on the Southra side.
