Rehab idea

IN REPLY to your article on the front page of April 24, I would like to suggest that Sully Hospital is used for what it was always intended, the care of the sick.

Turn this building into a rehabilitation centre for drug addicts.

The magnificent setting would give residents a real sense of worth.

The building is large enough to be able to house training schemes in a wide range of subjects, from independent living to ITC and vocational skills.

This type of facility is much needed.

When the individual expresses a need and desire to kick the habit, by the time they get a place, if indeed they ever do, they have slipped even further down that black hole or they have died.

That is the stark reality.

I am sure the people in the communities around Sully Hospital will understand this need.
