IN RESPONSE to the letter in last week's edition of the Penarth Times (Poor Rosie), I would like to make a few points clear, as I am the owner of the garden.
I wish to make it clear that I do care about my animals and that the RSPCA have been involved on several occasions by visiting the garden in question following similar complaints.
On each of these visits they have inspected the whole area, including Rosie's pen. On their last visit they advised that the goat's nails required cutting and this has now been done as per their instructions.
The reason that it appears like a junk yard at present is because young people have been trespassing on my land and letting the animal free, then trashing the place whilst killing my ducks and chickens.
I have been called out at all times of the day and night due to these vandals destroying everything in the garden, from fencing to the shed and pen itself. Every effort has been made to stop them coming back including involving the police, but they are powerless to do anything without catching them red-handed or obtaining sufficient evidence to arrest the vandals in question.
Without trying to be sarcastic, there are very few goats I know of who live in the Ritz!
