Dog danger

A large black and tan dog, believed to be a rotweiler, savagely attacked my smaller dog on a public footpath near Brockhill, Lower Penarth.

The attack took place on Wednesday May 7, at 5.30pm. My dog was on a lead when the rotweiler suddenly attacked, causing serious chest injuries as well as considerable distress. The vet said a smaller or less fit dog would not have survived.

The track is a well-used dog walking area as well as a play area for children. People living in the area are advised to be vigilant.
