Katie 'Busted' with delight

A SULLY teenager has won the chance to meet her favourite boy band thanks to a radio competition.

Katie Reid heard the prize on the Hit 40 UK and phoned up the station hosted by DJ Neil 'Doctor' Fox.

The fourteen-year-old answered several questions correctly live on air winning a series of great opportunities to hang out with the Busted boys.

Her prize includes a VIP tour backstage during a concert when the band performs in Newport.

Katie, who attends Westbourne School in Penarth, will also be involved in the making of the band's latest video where she will become a runner for the day.

The excited teenager said: "It was amazing enough to speak to Foxy live on the radio, let alone win these prizes with Busted. I'm so excited about spending time with the boys and also work on their video.

"Busted are my absolute favourite boy band and it's so cool that I'm going to get to meet them in person. Thanks so much Foxy and the Hit 40 UK - you've made my year!"

Katie's already been given a signed photograph of the boy band which includes her favourite member James Bourne.

She added that her friends who heard her live on the radio were really happy for her: "They were all really pleased for me."

The band, which has had a massive hit with 'But You Said No', will be on stage this Saturday at the Newport Centre. From Newport they will start their two-month tour across the country performing in Manchester, Liverpool, Glasgow and London.
