Recruiting

IN LATE 1942 or early 1943, I attended an attestation board for Bomber Command (Air Crew) which meant staying two days and two nights at a recruiting centre in Penarth.

I was accepted and survived 27 night bombing operations on Germany.

Now I have a Welsh neighbour who insists no such recruiting centre was established in Penarth.

Can any of your readers verify that there was a recruiting centre for RAF Air Crew at Penarth?
