James and Jack reach final

SIX BOYS represented Murch Junior School recently in the area final of the 2003 UK Chess Challenge.

Lloyd De-Claire, Jake Durham, James Harris, Nathan Thompson, Scott Walker and Jack Williams all played very well, after lots of practice in the school chess club run by Mr Thomas.

James and Jack both won four out of six games and they are now through to the mega-final which is being held in June.

They are all a big credit to the school.

Well done boys.
