Young tennis stars show their talent

DESPITE atrocious weather conditions a 10 and Under Mini Tennis Tournament was played on the new courts at Windsor LTC last weekend.

Windsor, now an LTA accredited Mini Tennis venue hopes to host many festivals to encourage the young stars of future tennis.

Braving the wind and rain, the youngsters, supported by parents and siblings, played round robin matches, umpired by junior club members Dan Owen, Tom Sidford, Alex Cox and Alys Randall.

The boys event was won by club member Harry Davies, with Tom Harry runner-up;

Girls winner was Isabella Collins who narrowly beat Charlotte Bloxham in a thrilling encounter that was won on a tie break.

Rob Cunningham, Windsor Club coach and tournament referee has a comprehensive mini tennis programme, for details ring 07909 987359.

All enquiries for junior tennis at Windsor are welcomed by Cathy Cole, tel 2070 2842.
