IT'S one of the most anticipated sequels of all time and it's already broken US box office records.
Its surprising really though, due to the fact that The Matrix was not only a revolution in film making, but pure class entertainment too.
Can the sequel live up to it's hype though?
Morpheus, Trinity, Neo and the crew of the Nebukenezza, have docked at the massive underground city called Zyon.
Here, they learn that machines are out to destroy the city and everyone living there.
So they set out to stop them by plugging back into the Matrix.
Despite a cool opening, the next half hour is so corny,
With the first film being hailed for being cool and slick, here the Wachowski brothers, try too hard to up the cool and slickness.
But they fall flat on their faces, with poor attempts at comedy.
You just want them all to shut up and get on with the film, and thankfully they do.
As soon as Neo has his fight with a hundred Agent Smiths, the film really does pick up.
The fight is amazing.
Keanu Reeves impresses with his martial arts skills while the film makers have taken their 'Bullet Time' technique to the extreme.
Then the hyped up 20 minute car chase comes along.
I'm not sure if it was really 20 minutes, but it was spectacular to say the least.
This is one of the best car chases ever, and it looks as if Bad Boys II (which is released in October) may have to settle for second prize at the MTV Movie Awards Best Action Sequence.
The rest of the film is quite disappointing though the amazing action makes is a film worth seeing.
