Mr James Ritchie, of Cornerswell Road, Penarth, has won £500 prize in the first Vale Council lottery.

A most enjoyable and successful evening was held in Penarth Youth Centre last week when Mr Roger Denning challenged 13 of the senior members in a darts competition.

Mrs Lorraine Barrett of Queen's Road, Penarth, is the new member of Penarth Town Council.

Residents' fears that bus services might still be introduced at a Dinas Powis estate have proved to be unfounded.

Forty-eight school children from Penarth's twin town of St Pol de Leon will arrive in Penarth on July 15 for a 12 day stay.

The Llandough and Leckwith Memorial Hall was the venue for the Civic Reception of the new Town Mayor Cllr Mrs Susan Thomas.

Cwrt-y-Vil AFC's presentation night was held at the Schooner Inn on Monday with Brian Clark making an award to Under 14 Player of the Year, Marcus Howells.

Sixteen-year-old Paul Loveless of Purcell Road, Penarth, won his third National title this year when he outpointed S Pike of Andover ABC.
