Failures

I HAVE read with interest Councillor Mike Harvey's "exclusive" a fortnight ago, and wonder if he has actually been down to Penarth Marina recently.

Indeed, as he says, the whole area is blossoming - mainly with the weeds that his council fail miserably to keep under control.

The only council service we see here is the weekly waste collection, which generally leaves the streets even more littered with rubbish.

Buddleia thrives in the walkways, grass grows everywhere, street lights fail and are not replaced, and street cleaners are an extinct species down here; the only sweepers are a few resident footballers!

Residents consider that the Vale regards the Marina only as a cow to be milked heavily for rates, for which they receive virtually no services.

But it's not all the Vale's fault! The WDA has not cut Plymouth Park even once this year. Add to this the Cardiff Bay Harbour Authority's failure to maintain the revetments on the water edge, and you have a fine trio of public bodies that are all singularly failing to carry out their duties.
