I AGREE with the comments expressed by your readers in the Opinion section of last week's issue regarding the Penarth sea front.

The real "eyesores" are the two existing blocks of flats, the facades of the shops and the deterioration of the upper floors.

Will these buildings, together with the old baths site, be allowed to become unsafe and be bulldozed to make room for even more luxury flats?

This fate has befallen several architectural gems of the Victorian era which are now just memories and post card features.

This isn't progress, it's commercial vandalism.
