Going back to the 80s

FROM Tuesday, November 11, to Friday, November 14, St Cyres School presented their annual musical which this year was Back to the 80s.

Material Girl, Mickey, Girls Just Wanna Have Fun and Footloose were just four of the 25 songs packed audiences rocked to every night.

The cast, stage crew and technical support, amounting to almost 100 pupils, worked tirelessly from September to stage this spectacular production.

Whilst every member made a very valuable and special contribution, particular mention must be given to principals Lorna Sullivan (Tiffany), Sophie Richards (Cyndi), Daniel Johnson (Michael), Ed Hughes (Corey Senior) and James Hoare (Corey Junior), for their exceptional work.

The accompanying band was made up entirely of staff and pupils: Mr P Lewis (bass guitar), Mr D Brown (electric guitar), Mr P Whittaker (piano) and Rhys Owens (Year 13) surpassed themselves, especially in You Give Love a Bad Name.

Mrs Howard (head of music) and Ms Nubert (head of drama) would like to give their personal thanks to all staff at school who helped make the production such a success and, of course, congratulate the wonderfully talented pupils they have had the great pleasure to work with.
