Many of the 340 houses at Cogan are in need of repair or modernisation, members of the Vale Housing Committee were told on Monday.

An investigation is to be carried out into the possible conversion of the central heating at the Harbour View Estate from electric to gas.

Martyn Swensson, younger son of Kath and Ray Swensson, of Purcell Road, Penarth, was presented with a certificate after completion of his training as Seaman (Missile).

Sir Raymond Gower MP has expressed the fear that the implementation of the Wales Act could be a recipe for disaster.

Parking problems at Rectory Lane, Penarth, can only be dealt with by banning vehicles from waiting on the whole of one side and at both ends, the Town Council has been told.

Tom Ingroville, vice chairman of Penarth Amateur Winemakers' Society, welcomed guests from other societies to the Western style barn dance at the Paget Rooms last Friday.
