EXTRACTS from the Penarth Times of April 13, 1979:

Pupils of Albert Infants School presented John Hunt with a pipe and tobacco on his retirement after 19 years as caretaker.

Old Penarthians RFC have narrowly overcome the first hurdle facing their controversial proposal for a sports hall adjacent to their existing clubhouse at St Mark's Road.

Janet Courtier presented Peter Mark, Head of Albert Junior School with a colour television for the use of the school, on behalf of the Parent/Teachers Association.

Llandough is the scene of a find of significant archaeological interest. Site clearance works for flats development at the Llandough Farm site have revealed that it was once the location of a Roman Villa.

After 40 years nursing, 20 at Sully Hospital, Alice Davies of Laburnum Way, Penarth, retired.
