Meet the Times team!

YOU READ the Penarth Times every week, but do you know who puts your favourite paper together?

The Times' small and dedicated team have built up a relationship of respect and friendship over many years - both in and out of the office. Throughout changes of ownership, they have stayed close. Now owned by Newsquest, with its head office in Newport, the Times has seen many transformations - but the staff stay constant.

Starting with reception, many people will know Joan Marsh and Anne Chick. Anne is a sales administrator and Joan is administrator/receptionist. They have seen the grief of family members coming in with obituaries and have shared the joy of grandparents congratulating their offspring on bringing babies into the world.

In the editorial department, news editor Sue Vincent-Jones keeps a watchful eye on reporters Charles Booth in the Penarth office and Jessica Hinton in Barry.

Sue's role is to pull the whole paper together. With her roots firmly in this area, Sue is loyal to the Times and the people.

Daily, Sue instructs her staff on the stories needed for that week's issue and supervises work done by the copy typists. In the Penarth office, that work is tackled by Kim Morgan, who has been with the Times for nine months.

Jackie Woolford is responsible for What's On, as well as many other regular items, such as 'Memories'.

Pete King, sport sub-editor, has been with the company for 20 years and has worked in the sport section for eight years.

Charles Booth is the reporter at the Times and has been part of the team for six months. His role is to inform readers about news in Penarth and the Vale.

At the helm of the advertising department is Dee Finch. She has been with the Times through many changes of ownership, remaining faithful to the town. Under her charge are the field sales representatives in Penarth and Barry - in Penarth Jackie Glassar has been with the paper for three months and is taking the area by storm.

The paper is co-ordinated in Holton Road, but sub-edited and designed in our Newport office, located in the South Wales Argus building on Cardiff Road.
