Cllrs and Mrs Evelyn Lloyd of Shakespeare Avenue, Penarth, were installed as the new Vale Mayor and Mayoress at the annual meeting of the Council on Monday.

Penarth Rugby Club's Youth Player of the Year, Bobby McLelland, received the John Leach Cup from John Leach himself.

Penarth Amateur Winemakers Society held a Cheese and Wine Evening last week, when the monthly awards were made to members. Judge A Sperry presented the trophy to Ron Alexander for the wine of the month.

Kathy Taylor, of "Aquarius", The Parade, Dinas Powis, recently presented a fashion show at the Parish Hall. Over £200 was raised and profits will go to the Dinas Powis Choral Society.

Jack Holt, of The Mount Dinas Powis, has been appointed managing director of Allied Windows, Penarth.
