Denzil Roynon, of Maughan Terrace, Penarth celebrated his win of £20,000 on Ladbrokes Spotball, with Winnifred Wallace. Winnifred who also lives at Maughan Terrace, just across the road from Denzil was Ladbrokes Spotball winner of £21,000 five years ago.
The local possum supporters group were able to send £150 to the charity as the result of their recent successful coffee morning.
Former Penarthian, Edward Reed, Manager of the Trustee Saving Bank at Pontypridd, has been promoted to the Area Branch Inspector based at Bromsgrove in Worcester.
The Chronics claimed as Penarth's only true punk band played their final concert last week.
The Mary and Martha Group were joined by friends from the Llandough Women's Institute for their annual outing which this year took them on a visit to Trelydan Hall, Welshpool, the home for the past three years of Iona Trevor Jones.
