The 14th Penarth Holiday Festival moves into full swing this weekend with another packed programme of events stretching right through to Sunday, July 29.

Penarth Labour Club has raised £40, through a raffle for the Mayor of Vale of Glamorgan IYC Appeal Fund.

Penarth Ladies Lifeboat Guild collected £550 during the recent flag week and wish to express their grateful thanks to all who contributed so generously.

When Andrew Evans, of Milton Road, Penarth, asked to see Concorde as a 12th birthday treat, he never expected the exciting day he was to have at Royal Naval Air Station, Yeovilton, in Somerset.

Although South Glamorgan County Council plans to carry out improvements to Penarth Public Library at an estimated coat of £30,000, the work may not be carried out until 1983-84, it was learned this week.
