Extracts from the Penarth Times 25 years ago

EXTRACTS from the Penarth Times of April 28, 1978:

The once proud mansion house at the Kymin now presents a forlorn sight with doors and windows boarded up against vandals.

The proposed demolition of the former St Joseph's RC Primary School building in High Street Penarth, has run into strong opposition.

Martin Price aged 13, a pupil of Westbourne House School, Penarth, won the Independent Preparatory Schools tournament finals held at Malvern.

The name of Western Welsh Omnibus Company Ltd and Red and White Services Ltd, disappeared to be replaced by a single company - National Welsh Omnibus Services Ltd.

A reader has brought in a cutting from the Penarth Times of 50 years ago, carrying a report of the sale of houses in the town from as little as £160.
