Penarth Adult Centre is making every effort to ensure that the national increase in fees does not deter local students from enrolling for the wide variety of courses on offer in the new programme for 1979-80.

An interest in developing the derelict cement works site of Lavernock Road, Penarth, has been expressed by a national housebuilding company.

At 88 years of age, Mrs N Hopkin, of Windsor Road, Barry, has just hit the prizewinners trail. She won an electric cooker in the electricity supply industry "win a cooker" competition.

Angels in Love a Victorian romp by Hugh Mills will be presented by Penarth Operatic and Dramatic Society from October 3-6 to mark the Dramatic section's 50th anniversary.

There were over 100 people in St Alma's Hall recently when the Townswomen's Guild Drama Group held a Welsh Evening of entertainment and refreshments
