Derby match joy for Harries and Lamb

1st Team - Welsh League Division 1: Ely Rangers 2 Dinas Powys 2

DINAS Powys football team drew 2-2 away last Saturday to near neighbours Ely Rangers in the First Division of the Welsh League. The goals coming from James Harries and Spencer Lamb.

Harries' goal was a far post header after a super cross from skipper Leigh Vick, whilst Lamb's effort was more of a cross, come goal. The team seemed to be coasting towards victory but two debatable penalties in the last 15 minutes robbed them of the full three points.

2nd Team - Welsh League Reserve Division East: Dinas Powys 0 Caerleon 1

During the first half Caerleon were on top with Dinas goalkeeper Alex Skinner producing a number of good saves and dealing well with crosses, but the teams went in at half-time all square.

Dinas came back well in the second half with shots by Lee O'Brien and Ali Kiyaga going just wide of the post before Caerleon scored with a far post header from a well flighted free kick in the 80th minute to win the game.
