DVD Review - 50 First Dates

DO YOU remember Groundhog Day? Bill Murray lived the same 24 hours over and over until he got it right?

Well, 50 First Dates had the potential to be that frustrating - but surprisingly, it isn't.

Lucy Whitmore (Drew Barrymore) had a terrible accident that destroyed her short-term memory.

Henry Roth (Adam Sandler) is a marine biologist working at a Hawaiian Sea World-type park.

When they meet by chance, Lucy falls for him but the very next morning she has no idea who he is.

Convincing Lucy's father and brother he's there for more than just a life-time's worth of one-night stands, Henry perseveres. And it does turn into a very sweet film.

A little too heavy on the sexual references and strong language for the youngest members of the family, but a cracking flick all round - and a brilliant one for that very first date of your own!
